Past Bowl Summaries2012 - Arlington, TXThe 6th-annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl was showcased on the grandest stage of them all: Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas! The West kept up its winning ways, edging the East 21-14 in a game dominated early on by the defenses of each squad before giving way to a frenetic finish that saw a tying rally by the East team fall just short in the closing minutes. Game awards went to Caleb Rowe (overall MVP), Pharaoh Brown (West Offensive MVP), Malcolm Lewis (East Offensive MVP), Otha Peters (West Defensive MVP), and Shaq Lawson (East Defensive MVP). 2011 - Myrtle Beach, SCThe 5th edition of the game returned to the Beach and temperatures were much improved over the 2010 affair. Cordale Jones passed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for another score West team topped the East 35-21 for their second straight win in the series at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. As solid as Jones was, offensive MVP honors went to East quarterback Vad Lee who was responsible for more offense than anyone on the field in a losing effort. 2010 - Myrtle Beach, SCThe game returned to The Beach but that was about all that remained the same. Temperatures were brutally cold with wind chills in the single digits and the West's huge offensive line took advantage, blasting wide trenches for eventual 2010 Bowl MVP and Virginia commit K.P. Parks to run through. In the end, Team West were the proud owners of their first win of the series and it was a doozy as they dismantled the East 35-0. 2009 - Myrtle Beach, SC2009 marked the first year the Bowl was played in Offense-Defense's headquarters city of Myrtle Beach. It also featured the biggest blowout victory for the East to this point as co-MVPs Demond Dennis and Kwame Geathers (University of New Mexico and Georgia commits respectively) carved up team West en route to a 28-3 in downright balmy conditions that would be contrasted sharply on both counts in 2010's game... 2008 - Miami, FloridaDefense and inclement weather were the name of the game in the last football game ever to be played in the hallowed halls of the Orange Bowl. The East came out on top 12-8 in a game that came down to a Pyrrhic test of wills due to the elements. With a hard-driving rain and an unseasonable chill in the air, it was no surprise that a defensive player walked away with sole MVP credentials. Mike Zordich, Penn State commit and son of former NFL stalwart and namesake Mike Zordich, took home the honors after his stellar performance locked down win #2 for the East squad. 2007 - Fort Lauderdale, FloridaIn a back-and-forth battle, Team East pulled away in the end to win by a score of 28-14. current Auburn starting quarterback Cameron Newton won MVP honors from a field including 2010 NFL Draftees Dez Bryant, Carlos Dunlap, Joe Haden, Rolando McClain, Earl Thomas, Golden Tate, and others. |
